Photo Du Jour : Cunault

Cunault is small town on the Loire River near Saumur. It's quite a drive from where we live, being west of Tours, while we are to the east. But the church there is worth a stop if you're in the area.

I love the candles in the pot on the floor.

This photo was taken in 2006 when we visited the church with our friend CHM. You can see a few more images from that day here.

  1. A beautiful, restful church, calling for une pause et recueillement. Des siècles de prières sous ces voûtes; c'est émouvant...

  2. claudia, it's amazing on the inside considering how plain it is on the outside.

  3. Those pictures are lovely! Its doesn't matter how many churches and cathedrals in France I visit, I never tire of them. I thought Saumur was well worth the visit. I was lucky enough to have coffee at a convent with some nuns that my family knew. The whole convent, school and church was just beautiful. I didn't see the Cadre Noir, but everything seemed to be in hommage of it in one way or another in Saumur.
