An End-Of-Fall Interlude

Yes, my friends, it is still Fall. Winter won't arrive until Sunday. Ha!

Golden rotting apples cling to the tree.

So, to send Fall out with a bang, or a whimper, wherever you are, I propose this. An apple tree. Leaves gone. Abandoned fruit still clinging, however tenuously, to the branches.

This lovely specimen is just outside our back gate. We have one just like it inside our yard. There is at least a wheelbarrow load of fallen apples under our tree that we have yet to pick up. Don't tell anyone, OK?

  2. It's meant to be Summer down here, but it actually feels colder and wetter than the Winter just gone.

  3. judy, that's right. I'm getting perilously close to the half-century mark.

evol, we had a summer like that in 2007. It was quite depressing.
