Another old photograph

Here's my twenty-one year old dad holding me shortly after my mom and I came home from the hospital. It's one of a small collection of polaroids that I have tucked away in a box. I've scanned most of them and have worked to improve some of the images. Photoshop does wonders for old faded photos.

Two generations of WCS's.

I have no idea what house or apartment my parents lived in when I was born; they didn't live there long because they moved shortly after. I don't even know where this picture was taken. If you look closely, you can see my dad's wedding ring. I still have that. It's a strange thing to have, but there you go.

  3. Happy Birthday Walt and have a good day.
I personally don't think that having your Dad's wedding ring is at all strange... it seems rather a nice memory to me!

  4. Today you can turn off the heating in the house and use the candles on the cake.

  5. Were you the first baby? I think your dad looks like a deer caught in headlights :)) "Uh oh... what am I going to do with this little fella???"

I think it's great that you have your dad's wedding ring.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

  6. Happy birthday Walt !! I hope you have a great day in spite of the dismal weather.

It's 8 years ago today that my mum died and I wear her wedding ring all the time; my dad gave it to me. I also wear her engagement ring when I go out for a meal in respect for her love of a good dinner. So we're both probably a bit strange !!

  7. Happy Birthday, Walt. Growing older isn't so bad when you consider the alternative.

  16. Happy Birthday, Walt!

And just remember, every year your age is a greater percentage of mine - in another 100 or so the difference will be negligible.

  20. Happy Birthday, Walt! Was the lunar eclipse visible for you this morning?

Now that your car has four new tires, don't go acting like a 16 year old with his first car! :)

  22. Happy Birthday, Walt and many, many more. I suggest you tell Ken that since it's your natal day, you are to do no work, just eat and sip wine all day. Cheers!

  24. Yes, Happy Birthday, Walt!!! I celebrated on Saturday. You and your Dad definitely have some of the same features. Enjoy your new tires and your day (although now, it must be over and you must be fast asleep). I'm wondering if you had clear enough skies to see any of the eclipse? I was out at another belated birthday party given me by my friend but as I pulled up to my carport I looked up - and there was the eclipse!
It had been clouded over and I hadn't thought I would be able to see it.
