More autumn leaves

What can I say? It's that time of year. Around here, the most colorful leaves are found in the vineyards. The grapevines turn brilliant yellows, golds, and reds. The trees, for their part, are mostly yellow in the fall.

I love how the veins in this leaf make little compartments of color.

We keep seeing lots of activity around the power line project going on in our neighborhood. The actual burying of the wires is long finished, but we're seeing work going on up on the poles and near the new ground-level transformers. I think they're getting ready to transfer power to the new lines. Just this week we've seen big generators installed around our neighborhood. They must have something to do with the changeover.

  1. We have the spring colours now.

  2. The green part of the leaf looks like a map of Salton City.

    1. Salton City near Indio, California? I need to look at a map and refresh my memory!

    2. Yes, I used to spend the winters there.

    3. I spent two years in Palm Desert while I attended C.O.D. (College of the Desert!). Very happy times. I LOVED IT!

    4. Me too. Paradise lost!

  3. Lovely photo Walt! Here in northern California the fall colors are all around. It is one of my favorite times of the year.
Good luck with the chainsaw you lumberjack!

  4. I'm liking the purples I see in the leaves from the vineyard!

  5. leon, enjoy summer!

    judy, cool, eh?

chm, that's what I was thinking...

    anne marie, :)

    christine, thanks!

mary, they're fleeting. Soon it'll be all brown!

Pour your heart out! I'm listening.
