The leaves are turning

I was surprised during my morning walk with Callie on Monday to see a lot of color change in the vineyards behind the house. There were, at first, a few leaves changing here and there. But now there are whole parcels that are going yellow and red. I didn't have the camera with me on the walk but I went back inside to get it when we got home.

I think this may be either cabernet or grolleau, but I'm never certain.

We got a call on Tuesday from the contractor who will be doing the bathroom work. The new towel warmer is in and he will come to install it on Friday. Yippee! There will, of course, be before and after photos.

  2. We have a heated towel rail in both bathrooms and hardly ever use them. I think they are a good idea though, for those odd occasions when when we do want them.

I think the leaf colour change is because we've had a couple of frosts. I noticed how much the walnuts and grapes have changed yesterday, and just looking out over the valley is much yellower than a few days ago.

  4. Walt, this is in reference to your pumpkin post of yesterday. I just saw this on another foodie web site blog that I follow and I am posting the address. The other reason I bring it up is that I notice in Ken's blog you and he both enjoy Asian cuisine and I find the recipes in this blog to be spot on. I have made many of them and they are all good and fun to prepare so I am sending both the recipe and the blog along to you. Have a wonderful fall day. http://thewoksoflife.com/2016/10/pumpkin-tres-leches-cake/ and the blog http://thewoksoflife.com/
