Back to rocks and leaves

The tree is down, the decorations are packed away. I will take the lights off the house today. So, at least at our house, the holiday thing is once again done. It was fun. We still have the epiphany coming this weekend. For us, that only means that I'll be making une galette des rois (cake of the kings). There's a special food for every occasion in France.

A rock in the road that runs through the vineyards behind our house.

The days are still short, although we gain a minute or so of daylight each day. The weather is not cold, but we're expecting some freezing temperatures over the next few days. It's time to start working on household projects, cleaning out, organizing, and otherwise doing indoor chores before spring.

  1. That reminds me! I need to go to the bakery and get myself a roscón de reyes... or maybe Jerry would like try his hand at baking one this year...

  2. There's nothing "only" about your galette! Can't wait to see it, again!

  3. Well, in the end, it all comes down to rocks and leaves, doesn't it?
Maybe it's time to find your galette recipe and try one myself, in company with the baking teen granddaughter.

  4. Oops, time to change the wreath on the front door. Decorations are already in their boxes.
