I'm up at 05h00 this morning. Well, out of bed. I didn't sleep a wink all night. I was up and down, out on the deck watching the stars, and watching for the neighbor's lights to go off (they finally did at 03h00). I think it's a combination of Restless Legs Syndrome and a sprained muscle in my right leg. I took some paracetamol (acetaminophen) yesterday evening, and it helped a little. But no sleep. It may also be my tendency to fall asleep after lunch while watching tennis on tv. I'm sure that doesn't help things.
There should be a picture here. Maybe I'll find one, maybe not.
I'm planning a trip to the market this morning. We're out of egg rolls. Ah, life in France. In other news, it Today is the Summer Solstice! And also la FĂȘte de la Musique! Fa la la!
Oh, sorry about the bad sleep and restless leg syndrome. I understand that. Mine hasn’t been problematic in recent years. Hope tonight is better.
ReplyDeleteOh, man, tonight is the night you're supposed to be up (dancing!) all night :) You'll probably conk out at 7 :)
ReplyDeleteLa nuit blanche - no fun if you're not staying up on purpose. Not wanting to sound like a crackpot, but I have read that sour cherry juice has good properties that the professional cyclists swear by, and is also supposed to aid sleep. Uncertain as to where you might find it, but maybe at a natural foods store. A fair number of articles in French if you look up "bienfaits du jus de cerises acidulée (ou aigre)." Or, since it's still cherry season, maybe try snacking on some sweet cherries!
ReplyDeletemitch, a much better night, thank you!
ReplyDeletejudy, dancing? Moi? Jamais! lol
kiwi, interesting. We do have a natural food store locally (in Montrichard). Maybe I'll check it out! And sweet cherries always sound good.
