I was wondering how well the angled blades work. I may look at those at a later date.mpabnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14669001375824364725noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-80363295678379409972007-04-04T19:30:00.000+02:002007-04-04T19:30:00.000+02:00I have a cheap, plastic Mandoline from an Asian ma...I have a cheap, plastic Mandoline from an Asian market which works fine for most things (and I always use the finger guard thing to keep my fingertips intact) but I love OXO's products so I might have to upgrade!Jenniferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18245742506531002363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-74867802660962796672007-04-04T08:16:00.000+02:002007-04-04T08:16:00.000+02:00Cheryl, I think the one we've got works well ;)Cla...Cheryl, I think the one we've got works well ;)

Claude, when Ken and I go to Paris, we usually stop into la Bovida or Dehillerin just to window shop (and sometimes buy). Look at what you're missing !

Peter, that's what I suspected about the angled blade, but the horizontal one works fine for household use.

mpabner, congrats on keeping your digits ! I still don't trust myself to use the mandoline without the food holder.wcshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00551283829616757577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-850865949955012702007-04-04T07:13:00.000+02:002007-04-04T07:13:00.000+02:00Kitchen collection suggestions....cordial glassesf...Kitchen collection suggestions....
cordial glasses
friteuse (with all due credits)
dutch oven (C'est quoi en francais?)
cutting boards

I hope this isn't posted twice... google is messing with my mind...Cherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15170098781777190491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-12976889730478063112007-04-04T07:08:00.000+02:002007-04-04T07:08:00.000+02:00LOL @ Claude.... mandoline as instrument. That's ...LOL @ Claude.... mandoline as instrument. That's what I thought, too, when you put it on your XMas list. If Peter thinks it's better to have an angular one, you can put it on this year's XMas list....
Grosses bises,
CherylCherylhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15170098781777190491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-69858251059671701042007-04-03T23:09:00.000+02:002007-04-03T23:09:00.000+02:00Lousy cook that I am, I had never seen or even hea...Lousy cook that I am, I had never seen or even heard of a mandoline, except as a musical instrument ;)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-32998102727969083332007-04-03T17:59:00.000+02:002007-04-03T17:59:00.000+02:00I have the Matfer mandoline, a traditional, French...I have the Matfer mandoline, a traditional, French, stainless-steel version of the one you have. I also have a Benriner which has the angled blade. Besides being less expensive, the Benriner cuts more efficiently and with less force. It's like comparing cutting with knife: pushing straight down versus sawing back and forth.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-75222498279558630112007-04-03T12:51:00.000+02:002007-04-03T12:51:00.000+02:00Good morning!
