Wipe myself with it and let myself air dry. When I lie down, I put the towel on top of me. That cools me off. After I while, I drop the towel to the floor (handy garbage bag already in place to protect the floor) and go to sleep while the air dries me off.
I also heard someone recommend drying the laundry over one's bed overnight. The evaporation helps cool things down. I assume the laundry is well wrung, not dripping wet. I can't really imagine hanging lines over my bed for this, but if the heat keeps up, I don't rule it out.
Another thing we've tried, but it doesn't really last, is hosing down the house. You can immediately feel the air getting cooler as the heat is drawn out.Ellen Lebellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01929639076042070115noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-61731767044248396692018-08-05T08:25:58.286+02:002018-08-05T08:25:58.286+02:00judy, I'm sure they could be sautéed or baked....judy, I'm sure they could be sautéed or baked. There isn't any egg in them, so they might not hold together in a sautée pan. But why not add an egg?

mitch, as Ken says, it doesn't really make much difference. It's still hot. And we only cook in the morning, to make lunch. No cooking in the evening, when it's hottest.

emm, yes, but it's complicated. Only if we had AC would it matter. As it is, we just have all the windows open until about noon, and then we start closing windows, shutters, and curtains to block out the sun.Ken Broadhursthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04430899802705818716noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-29514839357570837942018-08-04T10:46:09.268+02:002018-08-04T10:46:09.268+02:00Can't imagine turning on any heat in your kitc...Can't imagine turning on any heat in your kitchen on days like this! Our highs aren't supposed to be anywhere near yours and I still need AC to sleep. I think we're expecting around 30 tops this week.Moving with Mitchellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12954028272162285597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17913552.post-40267701973979790972018-08-04T08:37:35.178+02:002018-08-04T08:37:35.178+02:00Ah!
