Last Tuesday gave us a beautiful sunny morning (and day) and we happened to be out in St.-Aignan on some errands. I remembered to take the camera this time.
This is the view of the town's main street, rue Constant Ragot, as it comes up the river bank out of the center of town into the Place du 14 Juillet. The big building in the background is the collégiale, St.-Aignan's church. This place is right next to the Place Wilson (they're just separated by a street) and is where the non-food stands get set up during the Saturday outdoor market. The rest of the week it's a parking lot.
It won't be long before the trees leaf out. I can't wait.
I can't wait to see pictures of spring either. Saint-Aignan is a charming little town.
ReplyDeleteHello from N.C. Ha ha ha about me being interested in the Maison du vin in St-Aignan. What I was looking at was a sign that says Pays de Chenonceaux. I had never noticed that before.
ReplyDeleteHi Ken, You didn't sleep too long this morning. Welcome to the states. I think you've brought Spring with you.
ReplyDeleteKen, happy to know you've arrived here safely :))
ReplyDeleteWalt, I always love these town shots. I'm loving having Spring on its way. We've had high 50s - upper 60s for a week or so... and it's going to snow Saturday and Sunday *R*R*R* (just wet snow showers, but the very thought is annoying!)

Hi Ken, glad to know you arrived safely.
ReplyDeleteHope your trip was excellent Ken.
ReplyDeleteIt is nice to know you are "home" and enjoying your family.
It all does look like a lovely place to live.
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful little town.
ReplyDeleteBTW, why did the two of you decide to live in France?
Walt, are you going to treat us to another series of St-Aignan posts? That would be nice.
ReplyDeleteHope you and Callie are doing ok without Ken around. I bet she misses him. Lulu always spends the first few days searching the house for His Nibs when he's away for a spell.
Starman, we always planned to live in France one day. We met in Paris in 1981, and we spent nearly all our vacations in France from 1988 until 2002. Then we went ahead and moved to France in 2003. It was time.
