I noticed Bertie out on one of the neighbors' trash cans last week. Got the camera. Snap. Snap. Snap. He was enjoying the view and then suddenly jumped down and sauntered away. Just like a cat.
One of our other neighbors rang our doorbell early on Saturday morning. She's a young woman, probably younger than thirty, and we had never met her before. She asked if we had seen a small black kitten. Apparently he got out of the house and has gone missing. There was a cat fight near her house and when she opened the door to see what was going on, the kitten got out. She has several cats, she told us. She also has chickens. I asked her if she ever saw Bertie in her yard and she said yes, but that he wasn't involved in the fight.
There are now at least seven cats in our neighborhood that I know of.
You're not the grandparents of this little black kitten, are you? m.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, loved the last pic of Chicago. Great that you can see the goings on with the cab from another angle - a cubist photo? Also like the shelf of booze at the very top. Completely unexpected.
ReplyDeleteBertie looks good on blue! At first I thought there were three black cats on garbage cans.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
ReplyDeleteHope the kitten is found safe and well....
Great photo(s)!

ReplyDeletediogenes, thanks! I also liked the shelf of booze up in the bar. I wondered if anyone would mention it!
evelyn, it kinda looks that way, doesn't it! THAT would have been a great shot.
catherine, we don't have any news yet.
bettyann, thanks!
Bertie has that "cat thing" down pat.
ReplyDeleteI live in dog town. We have 14 dogs on ouur block, but blessedly, no piles of poop or excess barking.
I miss having a black cat.
