Une corydale, I think.I found a few of these out in a small field at the end of the vineyard road. We often see wild orchids out there a little later in the season. I always worry about taking pictures like this because I can't see the screen on the camera unless I lie down in the wet grass, which I didn't do. So I take a few photos trying to point as best I can and hold the camera still at the same time. As I'm not the most physically coordinated person around, I think I got lucky this time.
Your ID is correct. This looks like Common Fumitory Fumaria officinalis. They are part of the same family as Corydalis. As a group, in English they are refered to as Fumitories or sometimes Corydalis, in French les Corydales.

ReplyDeleteJe viens de regarder votre photo d'un corydale. Vous avez raison - ils ne sont pas la meme. Votre photo est de Corydalis solida (en anglais Bird-in-a-Bush, mais je ne sais pas le nom francais).

ReplyDeleteYou are my inspiration for taking closeup flower pictures. I too have problems getting down in the wet grass (like this morning) to take a closeup. Sometimes I get leg cramps and other times I can't see exactly what I'm taking so I take a chance. Like your picture today, sometimes I get lucky. More often than not, I don't that's when I'm glad there is a delete button function on my camera.
ron, yup, the point and hope method sometimes has good results! I'm planning on changing that, though. I'm looking at a new camera with a moveable screen so I'll be able to see what I'm doing. It won't cure the leg cramps... they're still working on that one!
