Radishes are a common sight in markets from spring through the end of summer. Big bunches of
radis roses (the red and white variety pictured here) abound. We eat them with salt and buttered slices of
baguette. A real summer treat!

One thing that does not seem to grow well in my garden! I have given up and just buy them now :) Diane
ReplyDeleteThis is another thing I had never had (this way-- with salt and a butter and bread) until I lived in France--yumm!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had a radish in a very long time.
ReplyDeleteThey look like radis de dix-huit jours - 18-day radish! Very brisk-tasting and delicious.
ReplyDeleteMiam miam !
ReplyDeleteI used to grow radishes of the long white icicle kind. Easy to do.
ReplyDeletediane, I've had good luck with them here.
ReplyDeletejudy, oh, me too. But I'm glad I did.
starman, can you get the red & white ones where you are? They're much milder than the all-red ones.
pollygarter, I can vouch for their crispness and deliciousness.
mary, :)
michael, I'm going to plant some of those this month as a late summer/early fall crop. I brought some seeds back from my last trip.
I haven't seen any, but then I haven't really been looking for them.
