Callie waits for me to catch up on what would turn out to be our last walk together Friday morning.
I want to thank everyone who's commented or sent messages about Callie. Your thoughts, words, and memories are comforting.

Thanks for the reminder about searching "Callie." I would love to take a trip down Memory Lane. Wishing you all sweet memories and lots of love from Tasha.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to taking a walk down memory lane with your sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteJust sat here myself for I-don't-know-how-long looking at all the old Callie photos. Although I only found you around 6 years ago, when Callie was 4, I have in the past read your early posts and was surprised at how many of your masterful photos I remembered. What a great family album!
ReplyDeleteThe above pic alone is now so painful to view so I'm first going to need a stiff drink to re-see the others.
ReplyDeleteI love the above pix; a sweet reminder of a pretty girl.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely photo of Callie's world. Tears for Callie and for you.

ReplyDeleteThat's exactly what I did yesterday > go through all the Callie pics that you've posted over the years. I intend to do the same on Ken's blog over the weekend. There are so many gorgeous pictures of her, but then she was a beautiful dog. I'll definitely miss seeing new ones every now and then, and can only imagine how much worse it must be for you and Ken. It seems so unfair. Dogs don't live long enough as it is, and then you're cut short on that. :( But I think/hope (Ma)Tasha is going to bring you as much joy and happiness as Callie did, in her own way, and I'm looking forward to lots of puppy pics. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have not been diligent in tagging my posts so it might be harder to find things on my blog...
DeleteIt really is great that you have the blog to help you remember all of your walks and sweet moments with Callie :)
ReplyDeleteCallie was so glamorous in so many of your photos. You and Ken (and Tasha, too) cared for and loved her so well. I can picture her, sitting lazily, looking glamorous, in doggie heaven. She is certainly smiling down at you as Tasha grows up, keeping you both on your toes.
ReplyDeleteI've been there, Walt. What a sweet girl, and so many posts. I've found that expanding Casey's life narrative - by occasionally posting significant events from his life in Casey's Worlds - has been therapeutic for me. And, who knows, it might help others that have rescued abused dogs. Casey, like Callie, had a fulfilling life, but it was also a 9-year recovery. We were so, so lucky to have found him.
