Plum trees around the hamlet, including ours, have started blossoming. It's very early, at least by a few weeks. I also see a couple of weeping willows that are budding out. I'm not sure if it's early for them or not.
Ken planted this plum tree from a pit many years ago.
This morning it's clear and chilly. When I opened the shade on one of the loft windows this morning I could clearly see the Big Dipper in the sky above. I like when that happens.
nothing is blooming here yet. my daffodils are poking their stems out of the ground, as are the snowdrops. been too cold and rainy for blooming. we have too much ambient light from philly to see any stars clearly. but we can always see the moon.
Living outside of Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher since 2003. You'll find here pictures and descriptions of our daily life in rural France, some travels, and other stuff about me, my husband Ken, and our dog Tasha.
Let's just hope there won't be a late freeze to ruin everything!
ReplyDeleteYour loft with a sky view makes for good star watching. I've never seen the Big Dipper like you did in the morning.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to see the Big Dipper!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of a sky window to see the stars at night, and early morning.
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful new picture of your furry friend.
chm, fingers crossed!
ReplyDeleteevelyn, it was there again this morning... no clouds!
bettyann, especially in winter when it's cold outside. :)
emm, Orion is easily recognizable in winter, but it's dipping toward the horizon now as spring approaches.
I see Orion on clear nights when I'm out late with the dog on Last Walk. That's the walk that is followed by the Daily Treat.
