Snowballs up close

The optical shop sent me a text on Tuesday saying that my eyeglasses were ready. I went in yesterday to have them fitted. So far, the reviews are mixed. I've been wearing progressive lenses for close to thirty years, so I know there's an adjustment period whenever the prescription changes. My eyes need to figure out where to look. This morning is better than yesterday afternoon, but there's still room for improvement. Maybe today will be better.

A closeup of snowball flowers.

I'm planning to get the French income tax return done today. It shouldn't take long once I get started. It's getting started that's the hard part. I just keep telling myself that the sooner I start, the sooner it'll get done.

  1. Same here with the French tax return. And why they have to slightly change the forms every year is beyond me! Good luck. We’re planning to do ours tomorrow.

  2. Beautiful snowballs. I hope that’s not what our Spanish accountant says about the tax return!

  3. Lewis and I both have progressive lens in our glasses and the new ones never seem better than the old ones. I think AI must be grinding the lens now. It's aggravating for sure.

That snowball shrub must be very happy in that location. That is quite a show! Interesting comment, Evelyn! I have had these latest glasses (always progressive lens) for almost two years and I have thought many times, these just aren't as good as in the past...thinking maybe the Dr. didn't up the Rx? I hope it isn't AI as I pay extra for that eye test to get the script. My previous Dr. left the area and I need to find a new Dr. She was young and I liked her. Disappointing to search to find another one (I only had her for 2 years.). Hope your eyes adjust to the lens quickly, Walt.

  6. It also matters where they do that progressive "line". Ive had glasses I can't use because it's far too high (or low)

  7. jane, have fun! I noticed the changes to the form as well.

    mitch, ha!

evelyn, my second pair is working out all right, so far. The lenses are larger and squarer compared to the first pair that are more round. I wonder if that's what's making the difference?

    bettyann, thanks!

mary, I wish it was in our yard!

blobby, true. I do have to tilt my head at certain points, but I think that'll become more or less automatic with time.
