We're toast!

At least, we're going to feel like toast by the time this week is over. Today's high is predicted to get upwards of 40ºC. That's 104ºF. And highs about the same, if not higher, for the rest of the week. Yikes!

Chrissoup - I like your suggestion! I will file that away should we have to suffer with a week like this forecast!

A friend of mine told me his solution was to take off his t-shirt and drench it in cold water and sit out on his terrasse until it dried and then repeat. He claimed it was the best way to beat the heat! I, only choose my 100% cotton clothing that is loose and to keep wetting down my body on the pulse points (back of neck, under arms, inside elbows, wrists, behind knees and ankles! I learned that from my mother! Keep Tasha wetted down if she will let you. Remy, my newer cat isn't so enthusiastic, but if we had over 100 degrees, he might be more agreeable to the procedure!

  5. Of course, I neglected to say he put the t-shirt on after wetting it down!

  6. Get the largest pan you have and fill it full of ice. Set it in front of a fan, pull up a chair, and cool off. Seriously, I hope you get a break in the weather soon. Galestorm in NC

  7. Yep. It’s awful. We cut our trip short. It was too hot to do anything touristy. So we returned home where it was 42 today!

chris, it's hard to sleep at any time. I like the ice cream idsa, though. :)

mary, anything wet dries up almost instantly, and that includes clothing.

galestorm, I'm not sure where i'd get that much ice! LOL
