Frost on stinging nettles. These plants will die back once it gets a bit colder.
I did go a few days without building the daily fire during the Thanksgiving week, but yesterday I was back at it. Which means that I will clean out the stove this morning to prep for today's fire. We're also getting a fuel-oil delivery today which should take us through the winter. We use the central heating in the mornings to warm up the house, then the fire in the afternoon to keep it comfortable.
nice peekture! we had snow yesterday, about 1 inch at my house. now, at 3a the next day, it's mostly gone. good riddance to a nuisance.
ReplyDeleteChilly here, too (relatively speaking). But, never any frost. With your eye, even stinging nettles are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBrr. It is one of my most favorite times of the year.
ReplyDeleteFrost AND nettles. Dangerous country there!

Under 0C here and the NHL season is still in limbo. Sidney Crosby may be heading to Europe to play as most of the European players have done or are doing.
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I hate the cold of winter. But it does make for some really great photos!
ReplyDeletewhat synchronicity! I learned the definition of 'rime' today - apt for this photo
ReplyDeleteA very holidayesque-photo, Walt! Frost on the nettles! Could be the beginning of a new Noël-themed chanson! Maybe I'll give it a try today since the Northwest has three different storms heading towards our shore (right now it is pouring cats 'n dogs).
