Yesterday was pretty nice, and not so hot. But today, the temps are expected to rise again, building to heat wave levels once again this week. It will be the third official heat wave of the year in France, with some of the highest temperatures ever recorded around the country and Europe.
I'm still in a sort of blog hiatus, as you may have noticed. Part of it is the heat; it really takes the motivation away, especially for working to take photos and process them. Another part is the lack of subject matter for new posts. I have been working on the yard on those cooler days. In fact, I just finished cutting the grass on the entirety of the property. But I've taken enough photos of the yard. There's not much to see, though, because most of the grass has been grilled. Rain has been scarce and the grass (and many smaller plants) have died back, dehydrated. Lawns and gardens all around the 'hood and town are mostly brown.
Nonetheless, I hope you'll check back here once in a while. I don't plan to close the blog down, but it's definitely in a slow slump. For now. Thanks for reading!

Hi Walt, yes, please continue your blog when you feel the urge, I’ll miss you if you stop. The heatwave has continued non-stop for the past 3 weeks here in the Diois. At least the grass has stopped growing so no need to mow. We’ve had one evening rain shower in all that time and my garden is suffering. There’s a wildfire on the hill above Die, thankfully no property affected, but it’s quite a biggie and difficult to access and control. I guess it won’t be the last this summer. Hope you get some cool weather soon.

But above all, keep well!!
So sorry to know your heat has returned. We’ve been rising into the 40sC every day but, as I’ve said before, we have air conditioning just about everywhere. I feel for you!
