Raisins on the vine

These are truly sun made. Not Sun Maid. And they're not good to eat. They're crunchy. This seems to happen when there are no leaves to shade young grape bunches. I wonder what percentage of a crop is lost to the sun?

Grapes and raisins.

Our heat wave is not over. Each day is a little hotter than the one before. We've abandoned our loft bedroom for the time being.Sleeping is a little easier on the house's lower levels. We can trap cool air in the morning for some relief. Thank goodness that there's no humidity. Dry air helps the hot air to be a little more bearable.

  1. They look like raisins. I guess you need a fully grown grape to make a good raisin. Something I never thought about until now. Glad you are getting some sleep now.

  2. I’ve been hoping that you were sleeping downstairs where it’s cooler.

  3. Lots of fans and cool showers? (Although, now I see from Ken that you have no cool water... yikes.)

  4. One more day of intense heat before it drops to 27C on Saturday Another night sleeping on the bathroom floor (it’s carpeted!)…..by the early cooler hours, back to bed. At least our veg garden has water, unlike those grapes!! Pats🚜
