Toward the parking lot. There are souvenir shops and a hotel in this photo. And, of course, the lot where we parked our car. Toward the background is a field of globe artichokes, a specialty of the region.

I'm really getting tired of this weather we've been having. It's depressingly cold, damp, and windy. I can't build a fire in the wood stove until I regain enough strength to split logs.
I can't stand this grey, either.... our meadow is awash... more of a lake!! Everywhere is half-light... yuck!
ReplyDeleteRe: wood splitting....
In 2016, we bought a fendeur [or fendeuse.... there were two in Bricomarché, side by side... one labelled fendeur, the other fendeuse and looked identical] It has proved to be a superb investment... it is hydraulic and splits the logs up superbly easily, I just put a log upright on it's table and press down with the lever and it does the rest... it has saved me much effort and hassle. It is also quite soothing as the blade moves down through the timber forcing it apart.
Ours is a simple wedge ended blade, but there are cross shaped heads too that give you four chunks at once....
It gives me kindling, and because of how the wood sometimes splits.... kindling for lighting the kindling!! [Poxy little thin bits that light very well!!]
So sorry you are still suffering. Can you hire someone to split the logs?

So sorry that you are still feeling this bad. A 50-ish year old fit young woman friend of mine, former student, had Covid for the first time ... tested positive right after NYear's.... she just posted today that she is "SO SICK OF COUGHING"... so, who know... maybe you actually did get Covid, and the test just didn't come up positive. Not that it matters, anyway! Feeling sick is feeling sick! (But, it doesn't seem like a cold would knock it out of you to this extent.)
ReplyDeleteI’d love to see that view now. So sorry you’re still not back to yourself.
