'Scuse Me While I Kiss The Sky

One of the strange things about this time of year is that everything seems to be on hold. Not much is changing out in the vineyard. There are some buds, but they're not fat and ready to burst yet. The grasses and other plants are just barely starting to put up new shoots; you have to look for them to see them.

The sky above the vineyard on Sunday afternoon.

But one thing that is in constant change and motion is the sky. Swift weather systems move through one after the other bringing a parade of clouds in all shapes, sizes, and colors. The colors part depends on the time of day and where the sun is. I know you were thinking it was something else. Maybe because of the title of today's post?

Monday morning's sunrise.

  1. "Hey Joe", "I heard the wind cry mary", "All along the Watchtower" under a "Purple Haze". Then I saw an "Angel" come down from heaven with "Gypsy Eyes" but thought she was a "Foxy Lady". There was a "Fire", with the "Burning of the Midnight Oil" in the "Red House" that gave me "Manic Depression".
Somewhere the "Highway Chile" got caught up in the "Crosstown Traffic" on a "long hot Summer Night". She decided to "Wait until Tomorrow" to rest at the "Castles made of Sand".
And because she was a "Wild Thing" she hummed the "Star Spangled Banner" for her amusement.
Sorry Walt, but I'm a Hendrix tragic.

  3. One of my most favorite things about going to the gym is that the cardio room is way up on the top, 3rd floor, where I can stare to the western sky and watch it as it passes by.

  4. Every sunrise I've seen for the past seven or eight years, has been from above the clouds.
