Grain silo in spring

Some of you will recognize the grain silo that sits down across the river from our house. It's an active storage silo that's located along side the railroad line that parallels the river. I assume that the corn, wheat, barley, colza, and sunflowers that are grown all around us pass through this facility at harvest time before it gets loaded into rail cars to go to mills and processing facilities elsewhere.

It won't be long before all this brown and gold turns to green.

When the weather is clear, like this, you can see some of the details on the building. When it's rainy or misty or foggy, the silo can look like a huge cathedral in the valley.
