I posted a photo of this fruitless cherry last week, but I think now it looks even more spectacular. Our plum tree's blossoms are all gone now. Look toward the bottom of the photo and you will catch a glimpse of the primroses blooming in our lawn. I'd like to get a few shots of those, maybe later today.
Cherry blossoms.
My trip to the Saturday market in Saint-Aignan was mostly a bust. No asparagus, yet. No strawberries, yet. The Asian guys weren't there, so no nems. I'll try again next week. I did get a bunch of radishes and they are delicious.
Sure is eye-catching. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about radishes yesterday. I love them and haven’t had any for a while. SG’s mother used to slice them up on white bread and have radish sandwiches. (I can’t remember if she used mayo.) Spectacular is the perfect description of that tree.
ReplyDeleteSliced radishes on fresh bread and a grinding of salt. Delicious memory.
DeleteI forgot to mention that when I make sandwiches, I hide diced radishes and celery in the salmon filling instead of topping it with lettuce. It adds a nice little crunch to the sandwich and is much less costly than lettuce these days.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous tree.

Oh! Véronique Savoie showed her recent purchases at the marché in Tours, where she lives, and they had Gariguettes! I hoped that meant that you'd have them available. Darn it!
ReplyDeletequestion: don't all radishes taste alike, like radishes? I used to grow some until I realized they tasted just like the ones in the store, so not worth it.
ReplyDeleteWalt, you are so lucky to have blossoms already!
