Cunault is small town on the Loire River near Saumur. It's quite a drive from where we live, being west of Tours, while we are to the east. But the church there is worth a stop if you're in the area.
This photo was taken in 2006 when we visited the church with our friend CHM. You can see a few more images from that day here.

A beautiful, restful church, calling for une pause et recueillement. Des siècles de prières sous ces voûtes; c'est émouvant...
ReplyDeleteclaudia, it's amazing on the inside considering how plain it is on the outside.
ReplyDeleteThose pictures are lovely! Its doesn't matter how many churches and cathedrals in France I visit, I never tire of them. I thought Saumur was well worth the visit. I was lucky enough to have coffee at a convent with some nuns that my family knew. The whole convent, school and church was just beautiful. I didn't see the Cadre Noir, but everything seemed to be in hommage of it in one way or another in Saumur.
