I'll be back...

It's hard to sit at my desk while my back is acting up. So I'll just show you a picture of the Château de Saint-Aignan and be on my way.

The eastern end of the castle, seen from the quai.

On my way to the floor, that is, to stretch my back.

UPDATE: I just made an appointment to see my doctor this morning. Hopefully, he can send me to a back specialist.

  1. Hang in there Walt I know what you're going through. Be sure to drink plenty of water with your ibuprofen....helps the kidneys.

  2. Walt,
Having just started to recover from a back problem, I have empathy for you. After 2 days in bed I was so bored (and sore).
Mine is due to a collapsed disc some years ago but I also get muscle fatigue and discovered it was my cholesterol medication. Don't just love old age?
    Hope you recover soon.

  6. Speaking from experience, rest will help a lot but you need to be able to sleep properly. Don't be too afraid of painkillers - as a short-term aid they are very useful and if they help you to rest or sleep so you can get over the acute phase they are worth taking. A physiotherapist once told me that pain causes anxiety and muscle spasm which causes more pain so "breaking the pain cycle" is important.

  10. Hope you feel better soon!

Our house has high ceilings and when we painted inside a couple years ago, I used a roller and ladder, so I was looking up all the time (and probably arching my back as well). This really did a number on my lower back muscles.

After that I used a roller extension - a long piece of wood that goes into the roller handle. Much easier. I guessing that, as organized a you two are, you used an extension while painting.

    Get well soon...

  12. Rest up Mr WCS. Kick back with a plate of cheese and a glass of vino and get Ken to do all the painting!

  13. Thanks to all of you! I appreciate your comments and suggestions. I'm sorry I can't address each one individually, but I'm cutting down my time in front of the computer for a while to help my neck heal. :)
