I mentioned last week that the full moon was setting in a place where I couldn't get a good shot. Two days after full, on Saturday morning, the moon's position had shifted and I got this photo out the bedroom window.
The moon was just past full. Details: f/16, 1/30s, ISO 160, focal length 300mm.
The sun had still not risen and the sky was that deep blue that you get in the twilight hour. I set the camera on its tripod with the zoom lens maxed out.
Walt, this is one great photo!! We have tried to get a full moon shot but have failed at it. Will take your settings and try them out for the next one. Good to 'see' you today. thanks for dropping by. A friend of ours just moved to France to join her daughter in Gouy Saint Andre in the north. We hope to visit them sometime. And since half of my ancestors are from France, I hope to do some genealogy hunting as well. Have a great day.

Ohh, I have lens envy. That's a wonderful shot with a touch of tree limbs to break up the sky. And try to keep the howling down.
ReplyDeleteI'm just a little embarrassed to say that in my younger years I've mooned. Teenage exuberance maybe
ReplyDeleteJust lovely Walt.

That is a good one Walt...
ReplyDeletelove the craters around the right edge.
Great Shot! Even though I know there are no continents on the moon, I couldn't help but try to figure out where Europe was upon first glance.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed our full moon, too!
