The Ghost Of Christmas Past #3

Happy New Year to all!

This will be the last in this short series on Christmas tree ornaments. Because, as you may recall, today is the day that I take the tree down. So I am inspired to take up the series again next year. Should this blog survive another year.

Rosy-cheeked, wry-smiling nutcracker.

This is another of my step-mom's creations. She did a lot with felt for a time. I have a felt Snoopy and this felt nutcracker. At least, I think it's a nutcracker. And I know it's about twenty-five years old.

You can see on the lower right a golden star. That's part of a bunch of star chains that I got at Crate and Barrel one year. I think they're grand. They sparkle, reflect the light, and they never tangle. A nice commercial complement to the amazing home-made ornaments on the tree.

  2. Walt, you are an organized person, that's for sure :) Our little tree will sit with it's little ornaments for a while, I'm sure. It's kind of a winter decoration for us, not just a Christmas one :)) I always end up putting it off too long -- I think it signifies the end of my Christmas vacation from school, so I'm never in the mood to take down the decorations! This year, we had two full weeks off, though--it's been great!

Happy 2009-- so glad I ran across you and Ken again in 2008. I wish you two the very, very best in all of the things you love. Thanks for sharing with us.
