First harvest

That is, if you don't count the radishes we harvested in the spring, and the coriander we've been picking for a while. These are the first fruits! The courgettes (zucchini) are starting to produce.

We plan to stuff these with the beef and rice filling that was left over from making dolmas not long ago.

It won't be long before we have green beans and tomatoes, too. At least I hope it won't be long. I'm looking forward to August.

  1. Courgettes - I love them oven roasted with tomatoes, aubergines and tomatoes. Plenty of garlic, olive oil, thyme and sea salt. All the juices mopped up with a crusty loaf. Summer doesn't get any better!

  2. Given the size of these against the tomettes on your floor....
you must have needed a sack truck to get them in!!
They'd win any giant marrow competition in the UK......

  3. Twins! Congratulations to the happy papa. We make zu-canoes with our zucchinis. Cut 'em in half, hollow out the seeds (voilà the canoe), fill with a mixture of tomatoes, cheese, etc., and bake. Miam.

stuart, that's what we did with these, only the stuffing was leftover from making stuffed grape leaves (rice, beef, mint, etc.).

mitch, I'll bet. More seats available in the restaurants...
