You can see the fuzzy little purple flower buds emerging.
I'm really looking forward to spring right now. It's just that time of year and I'm ready. Soon I'll be planting seeds for the vegetable garden. The greenhouse will soon be earning its keep.
I've never heard of a biennial lilac and I've never seen such a stunning close-up of the buds. My naked eye just couldn't cut it. Wow!
ReplyDeleteSuch amazing close photos!
ReplyDeleteI'm excited too. Hope you'll post some more photos as the blooms open up. We once bought a house with a(unbeknownst to us) biennial producing apple tree. The apples when they did appear every other year seemed especially delicious. We were always excited to see the buds forming.
ReplyDeletelucky you; I love the smell of lilac! we are expecting 10-14" of snow tomorrow; SNOW DAY FROM WORK!
ReplyDeleteLovely lilacs, can almost smell them. Keep those pictures coming.
ReplyDeletemitch, I had not heard of that, either, but somehow I bought one. D'oh!
ReplyDeletejudy, it's the new mag lens filters. They're fun!
sheila, you bet I will post more! And, our apple trees produce every other year as well. The "off" years still have a few apples, but the "on" years have hundreds!
