Vines in the fog

This is what the grape vines are looking like right now. Lots of fresh new growth and little flower buds. The days are mild and we've had a lot of rain in the past week. The growers use every dry day to spray the leaves against mildew.

There's a long way to go until we see grapes on the vines. But I'm not in a hurry.

Ken's in Paris until tomorrow and I'm using the time to get our French taxes done. Then I can do the American taxes (Americans living abroad get an automatic filing extension to June).

  1. Feeling virtuous -- I did ours on Tuesday. Don't let the filing get in the way of the tennis :-)

  2. Our tomato plants have doubled in size in just about two weeks. The one plant that I planted in a new spot -- where I thought it would get as much all-day sun as the others-- apparently only gets light morning sun. It is practically the same size as when planted, though it has some flowering on it.
Taxes... good times. Do you get to file jointly now?

  3. That's interesting, I didn't know mildew was such a big problem in the vineyards. I did my French taxes last month. Fortunately it's not too complicated... as long as they don't change the form from year to year !
