This is me in 1989. Ken and I did a drive trip through southwestern France and we had stumbled upon the ruins of a gallo-roman amphitheater in the town of Saintes. I was in my first semester of graduate school at Berkeley and was really into roman ruins.
Me at 29, very close to 30. Not a grey hair on my head. Yet.
I still wear that shirt. And I still have that jacket. The jeans, not so much.
Little did I anticipate in 1989 that I would become a roamin' ruin myself. Anyway, that's a nice portrait. Hold on to that jacket, it's just getting broken in.
ReplyDeleteVery fetching 'blast from the past' , Walt - and so is your rig-out.
ReplyDeleteI still have a jerkin type jacket of my brother's which I love. He was killed in a car accident in 1958 and he lives on with his jerkin and great memories. Clothes bought nowadays will not last as long! Have a good day Diane
ReplyDeleteHey! I used to be 29 almost 30, too!

OK Walt - Here's my challenge to you. Find that shirt and jacket - drive up the road to THESEE ruines gallo-romaines and give us a 2014 version young fella.
ReplyDeleteLove TBT idea! We were lucky to have had France in our younger years.
ReplyDelete"the jeans not so much" LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel bad- we are all in the same boat.
Wonderful! (lefthand only typing) Surgery Tuesday for broken wrist last Thursday.
