Soaked

Thursday was a wet day, to say the least. It had started raining during the night and did not stop all day. The rain was moderate, but steady. It's unusual for us to have hour after hour of steady rain. Normally our weather systems come in with squalls or showers that move quickly through, but this system was just rain, rain, rain. We measured twenty millimeters in the gauge this morning.

This small orchard was planted sometime in the last five years or so.

The rain has stopped now, but the temperatures have dropped and the wind is still with us. Ah, the joys of winter.

  2. Walt,
It's not SNOW. No snow. It has been raining here a lot which at time is annoying but IT'S NOT SNOW.

  3. Horrible sloppy mud for Callie to walk in and our chickens to mudlark in. Could have been worse - earthquakes in Rutland and Deux-Sèvres! Pauline

  5. Once or twice a year Sydney is hit with a rain period that may last 2/3 days. Just constant soaking rain, then it passes to be replaced by brilliantly clear blue skies. We've just had such a rain 'event' (as the Weather Bureau likes to say).

  6. Rain--you've got too much, we've had not one drop here in all of January. Too bad there's no way to even it out.
