The sun peeked out from the western sky as it descended below the clouds on Thursday afternoon.
We got a couple of millimeters of rain over the past two days. Really not much. Everything is still dry out there. I saw a lot of vineyard parcels where the grapes are few and tiny. It made me a little sad. I hope it doesn't turn out to be a horrible year for the growers.
Don't be sad, at least your puppy looks at you when you call her name for a photo shoot! Hope the crops are enough this year, it does effect the community when it is a bad year. Here it is apples and it is not good!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh, you both posted about Callie today :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a nice Callie in landscape photo. Crops are not good in the states this year either. Perhaps the wine will be better than it looks on the vines right now.
ReplyDeleteA functional looking building. Any idea what it is used for?
ReplyDeleteThe prediction for this year's crop is not good
ReplyDeleteWhat do the wines taste like in a dry season?
ReplyDeleteivan, she does that maybe one time out of five... and we have a lousy apple year down here, too. Of course, it means that I don't have to pick up thousands of fallen apples when I cut the grass.
ReplyDeletejudy, funny how that happens!
evelyn, it might be, but there will be less of it.
andrew, it's one of many typical structures in the vineyards that, in the old days, housed tools and served as a place to eat and rest during the long days of working in the vines. Now, with modern tractors and vans, the growers carry their tools with them and speed home for lunch.
starman, we shall see.
michael, the wine is more concentrated, less watery. High sugars, high alcohol, but less wine overall. At least that's my understanding.
