Monday macros

The shards of this broken vineyard post made me think of crystals. My mind works in mysterious ways. When it works.

Splintered wood, 100mm (macro), f/3.5, 1/250s, ISO 800.

The rain squalls and wind gusts continue and are expected to do so for another twenty-four hours or so. The wind is still not as strong as they've been predicting, and that's a good thing. But it's quite wet outside.

  1. Your mind influences in mysterious ways, too. At a glance, and before reading your post, I thought it was a photo of crystals.

  3. OK - I am a nerdy scientist; try not to hold it against me. ;-) Your mind is so right! Crystals are ordered arrays of atoms and molecules and wood is, in essence, ordered arrays of macromolecules. Your Monday Macro is spot on! And the photo is lovely to see.
