Daffodils are blooming all over the area right now. They're among the first signs of spring. I'm always tempted to cut them and bring them into the house, but I don't have enough for that. I like seeing them in the garden. Makes me think I should plant some more next fall.
Jonquilles (daffodils) out by the driveway.
There are other spring blooms around as well and, while they're not blooming yet, this year's iris crop looks promising.
Daffodils are lovely but very untidy when they have finished flowering. We have quite a few in pots which we put in prime position when they're in flower and hide round the back of the shed when they've finished! I love them because you know it's Spring when they're in flower.
ReplyDeleteHere, too -- crocuses and daffodils up!
ReplyDeleteI’m suffering daffodil and crocus envy. Might have to stop at our nearest flower kiosk and see if they have any. (Damn the cats.)
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful daffodil. Please plant more this fall, you will be glad you did and so will we. ;)
ReplyDeleteI like seeing daffodils in mass and am hoping to plant a lot next fall.
ReplyDeletejean, they sure add a springy feel to the neighborhood!
ReplyDeletejudy, :)
mitch, do the cats prey on flowers?
bettyann, it's one of those things I always think of in the spring, then forget by the time fall rolls around.
evelyn, our friend Sue in California has beautiful patches of daffs all over her yard. It's very pretty.
Walt: The cats don't eat the flowers, but a vase with water sitting on a table is risky. Of course, they NEVER go on the tables (ahem) but IF THEY EVER DI a vase with flowers would be too interesting and would probably be knocked over.
