I think this is a lamier pourpre (deadnettle). They're everywhere right now.
Once all that calmed down just after midnight, I could hear a dog barking in the distance. Why someone would leave a dog outside overnight, constantly barking, is beyond me. Then, just as I started to drift off, the toads in the pond out back began their very loud croaking. I finally had to shut the windows on that side of the house. It's going to take some time to get used to summer weather.
But not just yet. The weather is changing and it will not be so warm, at least for a while. We're expecting cooler air to move in during the day today.
Yes, it would be nice if the temps would just settle in to a nice 20°. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteI hope that cage out there (Ken's post) is not set to catch Bertie!
ReplyDeleteA barking dog, one of my pet peeves. Thank goodness we don't have that problem here. We've had that problem at our other homes though.
ReplyDeleteTime to get your fan out, stirring the air helps.
ReplyDeleteThe nightingales have just started to sing, too. I kept waking last night for some reason, and every time a nightingale was in full song. And that was through closed double glazing. Sleep well! Pauline
ReplyDeleteNo it's not. It's a you-know-what.
