Maybe the tractor is a Trojan horse?
Bert did just fine at the vet's office. First, he showed up. At the last minute. I was out calling him, getting ready to give up and cancel his appointment, when he bounded over the fence from the woods to our north and came up onto the deck. I opened his carrier and he walked right in. He's healthy, gained 300 grams since last year, got his shots and a worm pill, and that was that.
How nice! We used to have lure our cats into their boxes with food and most times that didn't work, either. We had to really push them in. Then, they'd cry all the way to the vet's, pee in the box (we always lined it for that), be very nice to the vet and get right back into the box for the trip home -- crying the whole way and another pee, just to perfume the car. It wasn't a long drive, about 15 minutes each way, but it was nerve-wracking.
ReplyDeletewalked right in...wow, I have never known a cat to do that
ReplyDeleteBravo for Bert- walking into his carrier like that. No cat of ours did that ever! He obviously appreciates the good life you are giving him.
ReplyDeleteBert is a unique cat. I always enjoy his appearances on your blog and to hear that he comes to your call--well, I'm astonished. You two must have gotten the one cooperative cat in the universe.
ReplyDeleteAwww, Bertie is a good boy!
ReplyDeleteOh, if all cats were as cooperative as Bert... (well, I suppose someone would have to redefine "cat").
ReplyDeleteAjax is very popular at my home
ReplyDeleteGood news about the pooch.
ReplyDeleteBertie is amazing. I distinctly remember having to go flat on the floor, groping under the bed, to pull out an extremely unhappy and irritated cat when it was time to go to the vet. And I hadn't even given it away by getting out the box, somehow he read my appointment book.
ReplyDeleteBert is a cool cat. He'll be ten years old in May! One day a number of years ago, one of neighbors (who has multiple cats) called us over because Bert was up on her roof. She wanted him gone. We called his name and he came down and jumped into my arms. The neighbor was dumbstruck. She had never in her life seen a cat come when he's called.
