All the leaves are brown. And yellow.

Not a great photo, but it shows the dramatic leaf drop we had with recent storms. This forsythia in the back yard has already set its buds for next spring.

Almost all the leaves are gone having fallen pretty much in one day.

After it blooms, it will get trimmed seriously back. I've let it go a bit too long.

I took my camera with me to the blood lab this morning thinking I could snap a few shots of the river in the morning fog. When I got down there I realized there was no memory card in the camera. D'oh! This tells me that I should keep an extra memory card in the car for such occasions.

  1. I've been noticing how the leaves from the trees form a nice, perfect circle on the ground underneath. It's artistic!

  2. I like the purple and yellow hews of the photo :)

    I don't like blood draws.

  3. I never use the memory card in my camera.

  4. Beautiful picture, lovely colors. Has your forsythia really set buds for next year already? Even the ones here in NC haven't done that.

  5. alewis, and that's exactly why I took the picture!

judy, I'm better about the blood thing these days, but on one occasion, about 3 years ago, I nearly passed out. ugh!

starman, my camera doesn't function without one; no internal memory.

emm, yeah, they start setting buds during the summer after the flowers are all gone.

  6. Poor Bertie. Maybe it's the bird he ate the other day ... or (I don't even want to think of it!!) the neighbour fed him something nasty! :(

  7. Or, maybe Bertie doesn't like the new food you bought? Or has he shown no interest even in other kinds of foods offered?

  8. that rainbow from your last entry showed up here in the northern desert. I am glad you sent it over.

Pour your heart out! I'm listening.
