Seen from outside

These are the piney woods I've been showing you recently. This shot is from the vineyard road looking toward the woods. You can see that it's not a forest, just a small stand of pines on the edge of the vineyard.

The piney woods.

I took this picture during one of the recent, and rare, breaks in this winter's overcast. I noticed yesterday that the daffodils and tulips are poking up now. If we're lucky, in another month it will feel like spring.

  2. I was looking in my photo archives, and see that in mid-March (only a little over a month away!) last year, I had daffodils and hostas and Star Magnolias and hyacinths all in bloom! It's sure hard to believe that is around the corner!

  3. I don't know why,, but the phrase "piney woods" conjures up visions of hillbillies and hound dogs.

  4. Starman - I'm thinking visions of a mystery in England! There aren't any flowers I've noticed coming up around here. The primroses are usually the first to sprout up - but none lately that I've noticed.
