I think we should re-brand the 31st year as the Artichoke Anniversary.
According to the Hallmark people (and they should know), the official 31st anniversary gift is "travel/tourism." Well, Ken just got back from Paris. I went to the market in Saint-Aignan. And taking a tour around our garden yields all manner of lovely sights, like this artichoke.
Congratulations ! I'd say that's quite an accomplishment by today's standards. And how great it is to have artichokes right in your own garden. One year, I tried to re-brand our anniversary as the the mulch anniversary, as I had just received a dump truck load of the stuff to spread around our house in NC. For some reason, that didn't fly.
ReplyDeleteOh, and nice shot of the arty !
The artichoke looks like an exotic crown. Good choice! May you have many more happy years together. P
ReplyDeleteMany more happy returns and travels - may be across the pond one of these days :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you both! Wishing you a good crop of artichoke this year and more in the years to come along with some good wanderings.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary - though I think an "artichoke anniversary" sounds more intriguing than a travel/tourism one.
ReplyDeletecongrats, with many many more years to follow! happy june!
ReplyDeleteHappy living-together anniversary! Wishing you a garden filled with many more beautiful artichokes.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! I never realized every year was a special anniversary...If 31 is travel, what is 32, I wonder?...Your artichoke is indeed beautiful.
ReplyDeleteKristi, I think that 32 is "sit down and rest your sore feet from all of that traveling and tourism of year 31" :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on so many years with the right person :) And, of course, what a beautiful artichoke photo!
Congratulations on 31 happy years!
ReplyDeleteSweet!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Walt (and Ken)!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both - we're only a year behind you!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely celebration!
ReplyDeletemay there be as many more years - and no lack of artichokes.
Perhaps a T-shirt is in order: "I lived with this guy for 31 years and all I got was an artichoke"
Congratulations and many happy returns!
