Une libellule

I was sitting on the deck reading on Wednesday afternoon when I noticed a small dragonfly go by. It stopped on the tip of the car's antenna down in the driveway below me. Hmm, I thought, I wonder if it'll stay there long enough for me to get the camera?

The background color is the car's roof.

I had enough time to change lenses and take a bunch of photos before the dragonfly moved on. This is my favorite of the bunch.

  2. It's exquisite!!! You must have an excellent camera (:^) and a very, very steady hand to be able to shoot such a detailed photo from a distance (2-3 metres, I guess??). Bravo! Martine

  4. Nice reliable subjects, male dragonflies. They will return to a stick again and again, so there is always time to get the camera. C'est le sympétrum rouge sang.

  6. Okay...so I guess this is the reason why we need to keep our cars spotlessly clean!!!
One never knows when the car roof will take on such importance in the next photo op!
Well done and speedily, I might add.
