The grape leaves are falling fast now. Whole parcels are bare, others still have some leaves. I actually noticed one grower has started pruning already.

Grape leaves on the ground.

We're going back into a mild period, so I'm hopeful we'll get some more yard work done over the weekend. There are, not surprisingly, leaves to rake in the driveway.

  1. I always enjoyed the first day of leaf-raking. It was downhill from there.

  2. I don't understand today's newsiness about Turner and Mitchell. I do understand falling leaves.

  3. Hurray!!! Congrats to all of you, frankly, congrats to the world!

  4. some folks here (not many) keep the leaves where they fall as a means of fertilizer for the spring.

  5. I don't get the Newsiness, either. Unless it's tennis? I've been watching the political follies, instead.

  6. mitch, no kidding!

evelyn, emm, it's from an old Mary Tyler Moore show in which the newsroom was reporting on the mayor's race on election night during a snowstorm. Because of the storm, they didn't get any vote tallies after the first one, so for the whole night they kept reporting the same vote count: Turner 85, Mitchell 23.

    judy, good!

    elgee, agreed!

michael, I do that, but not in the driveway. ;)

Pour your heart out! I'm listening.
