Thanksgiving Day

Today is Thanksgiving in the United States. It's a national holiday, second only to Independence Day as far as secular national days go. The traditional meal is stuffed turkey. The traditional sport is sitting on the couch watching (American) football on television. The traditional w(h)ine is, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing." LOL.

Some birds flying south between the contrails.

Ken and I will roast our traditional leg of lamb and maybe watch some tennis or CNN or Dr. House on television. And we'll drink a bottle of Beaujolais-Villages nouveau.

If you celebrate, enjoy! If not, enjoy anyway. And be safe.

  6. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are having the full blown American dinner for just the two of us. My husband will deal with the carcass for making soup.

  7. Hugh Laurie had a different-type of character in Roadkill, produced by the BBC that had 4 episodes that may or may not be finished. Other than House, I hadn't seen him in other acting roles. You might like it!

Yes, your Turkey centerpiece is colorful, as are all the wild turkeys who seem to prefer the middle of our narrow private road. They can really be a pain, sometimes! But, when they are agitated they strut and fluff out all of their feathers - it really is a sight to behold! I've tried to stop my car, park and get a photo, but I'm never fast enough. Enjoy your 'holiday'.

    2. I've never even heard of Blackadder. I do like Rowan Atkinson. Something to search for when I get Netflix (not in my near future, but eventually!).
