Watching and waiting

Not much going on right now. We're watching the season shift into fall. The grape harvest is nearly done, the weather is changing, leaves are beginning to turn. We're waiting for work to start on the new shower and the greenhouse. The greenhouse work is scheduled to start next Saturday. Weather permitting.

An autumn leaf.

Otherwise, the vegetable garden is winding down. Ken picked the last of the tomatoes, the pumpkins are close to being ready. We still have kale that we think will continue to produce for a while. I want to make an appointment for Callie at the groomer's, then she needs to go to the vet for her annual shots in November.

  1. Don't be in a hurry to lift your kale....
the Spring flush from them is magnificent...
and the flower sprouts after that are so tender and sweet...
you can eat them raw in a winter salad

  2. We had a heck of a thunderstorm during the night with torrents of rain. Got up with the sunrise, looked to the west into a magnificent rainbow. Great way to start the day. Enjoy the autumn weather.
