This tree is some kind of fruitless, or ornamental, cherry, I think. I'm not at all sure why I think that. Maybe someone told us it was back in the olden days. I don't remember. Whatever it is, it puts on a beautiful pink show every spring around this time.
Pretty in pink.
I had some dull soreness in my shoulder and back muscles on Saturday that I attribute to Friday's vaccination. A couple of acetaminophen tablets helped. This morning the soreness is gone, after one of the best night's sleep I've had in a while.
Yay for no more soreness and for a great night's sleep. I'm waiting for one of your more brilliant readers to tell us what the tree is.
ReplyDeleteWe both felt a bit off it for a day or so after getting the vaccine. Curiously, the soreness in my arm returned for about twenty four hours about two weeks later. Most peculiar.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the enhanced sleep was due to the peace of mind at having got the vaccine at last. I'm so glad you have and hope Ken will get his this week. It's the only way out of this mess. Living with the lockdown here is beginning to make us feel very trapped, even though there are only a few things we're missing out on. Travelling to France when we want to being one of them.
I love the fruit-bearing and not-fruit-bearing fruit trees that flower this time of year.
ReplyDeleteHey, maybe you were already told this, but I learned that CDC guidelines are that we should not take Ibuprofen or Tylenol (Acetaminophen) before the second shot... it's okay after, but not just before. I didn't know this, and I took Ibuprofen. Apparently, there is some concern that this diminishes the body's reactions in developing the fighting mechanism against the virus, when it detects it... because the whole reason that we get side effects after the second shot, is because our body puts into action the message that it got from the vaccine, to fight off the virus. Some sources are saying that this isn't a concern, but it's not really known yet (and it's too late for me).
I had a friend who took Tylenol and Ibuprofen before her shot. She by chance had some bloodwork done a few weeks later that showed she had antibodies, ouf!
DeleteI'm sleeping well after two shots, the vaccine is such a blessing for us all.
ReplyDeleteAnd we are so lucky to see your beautiful, flowering tree! I’m sleeping well too but last night was one hour short.
ReplyDeleteI've heard reports from several people about much better sleep post-vaccine. Maybe the shot, maybe just peace of mind.
ReplyDeleteHere's a feel-good story about a side benefit for some lucky people getting their shots: https://www.berkshireeagle.com/news/local/after-receiving-second-dose-yo-yo-ma-transforms-waiting-period-into-performance-at-pittsfield-vax/article_72e90bf8-843d-11eb-99e0-bb989805e596.html
