La chambre dite de Ruggieri

Another bedroom in the Château de Chaumont. This one is called "Ruggieri" after an Italian astrologer employed by Catherine de Médicis in the sixteenth century.

The Ruggieri room, Château de Chaumont. October 2012.

We're expecting afternoon showers, maybe even thundershowers, today. Another opportunity to stress about water on the deck.

  1. Mother Nature is not being kind to you. The Ruggieri room looks very cold. I can understand the heavily curtained tent bed, although it looks much too refined for its surroundings.

  2. The knight in the window looks like a giant. War never seems to leave us.

  3. Oooh, this is a great room to see -- I've never seen all of these Chaumont rooms!

  4. I wonder if the curtains were a sort of heat-saving device to keep warm?

  5. mitch, no kidding. It's supposed to be dry a warmer as the week progresses.

evelyn, the praying person looks like he's on his knees, so maybe that's why the knight looks so tall.

judy, you should plan a trip! ;)

michael, indeed, I think they were.
